Christmas Origami ride - Meriden - December 12th - Event Report

Twenty riders met at the Tearooms, Meriden on a glorious sunny winter's day. The usual Christmas 'Bring your most unusual bike' theme attracted an eclectic mixture of machines, as well as some less out-of-the-ordinary bikes. After a pleasant morning ride and lunch at The Bull's Head the riders opted to forgo the afternoon loop in favour of 'mucking about in the car park'. Folding "mini-farthing"

YikeBike, a very light weight (9 kg) and extremely compact electric, folding "mini-farthing" is voted number 15 in TIME magazine's list of the 50 best inventions of 2009. These bikes out of New Zealand, inspired by the 'Penny-farthing', should be available there, in the UK, and in selected countries in Europe by mid-2010 according to TIME.
